Since assuming office, Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated a clear commitment to spreading development across Kaduna State, with Zangon Kataf Local Government Area standing out as a major beneficiary.
The administration’s focus on infrastructure, youth empowerment, political inclusion, and peacebuilding has begun to reshape the socio-economic landscape of the area.
One of the most visible projects is the Kafanchan–Madakiya–Madauchi road in Bajju Chiefdom, which is progressing steadily. This vital road, once a nightmare for motorists, will enhance mobility, stimulate trade, and open up rural communities to economic opportunities once completed.

Recently, according to a statement, the governor inspected the ongoing construction – a 22.8km asphalt road, linking Zango Kataf and Jema’a Local Government Areas costing millions of Naira.
Similarly, in Atyap Chiefdom, construction of a Rural Access Road at Anguwan Gayya is ongoing, while another major feeder road project awarded in December 2023 is linking Atak-Jei, Mayayit (Ungwan Jaba), Makarau, Atachirak, and Jankasa. These roads will ease transportation, connect farmers to markets, and promote social integration across five communities.
Beyond infrastructure, Uba Sani has placed strong emphasis on human capital development. The multi-billion naira Skills Acquisition Centre in Samaru Kataf has already taken off, designed to train over 800 youths annually in trades such as carpentry, welding, sewing, and computer literacy. This intervention is poised to reduce youth unemployment, discourage restiveness, and create a new generation of skilled entrepreneurs in Southern Kaduna.
The administration has also ensured political inclusion by appointing key leaders from Zangon Kataf into strategic positions. Figures such as Hon. Patience Fakai, Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology; Air Cdre. Emmanuel Jekada, Pro-Chancellor of ATBU Bauchi and Kaduna APC Chairman; Hon. Isaac Atiku Sankey, Special Adviser on Peace and Conflict Resolution; Hon. Ruth Jummai Ango, Federal Commissioner at Federal Character Commission are all humbly serving this government at both state and federal levels.
Other appointees include, Hon. Iliya Anthony Timbuark, MD of Kaduna Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA); Barr. Naymarie Francesca Musa, MD of Kaduna Industrial and Finance Company; and Hon. Francis Damina, SSA Research and Documentation. All these appointments reflect the governor’s deliberate effort to give not only Zangon Kataf Local Government Area but Southern Kaduna a strong voice in governance.
Perhaps the most significant achievement is the restoration of peace in the LGA. Under previous administrations, Zangon Kataf was synonymous with insecurity, marked by banditry, communal clashes, and wanton killings. Today, residents testify to a new climate of calm. Indeed, if Zangon Kataf is at peace, Southern Kaduna is at peace — and by extension, Kaduna State.
Governor Uba Sani’s interventions in Zangon Kataf show a blend of roads, empowerment, political recognition, and peacebuilding. These efforts are gradually transforming the LGA into a model of inclusive development and sustainable progress.
