Kafanchan, the political heartbeat of Southern Kaduna, is set to witness a massive show of strength this Saturday, 1 November as members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) prepare for what insiders describe as the “mother of all rallies” ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The forthcoming mega rally, organised by top APC stalwarts and influential figures from across the eight local government areas of the Kaduna South Senatorial Zone, is more than just a political gathering. It is a carnival of confidence and a statement of dominance. Party sources say the event will transform Kafanchan into a sea of green, white, blue, and red – the signature colours of the APC.

Designed as both a celebration and a strategic display of political muscle, the rally will bring together elected and appointed government officials, grassroots mobilizers, and defectors from opposition parties who have in recent months crossed over to the ruling party. The decamping wave, which began months ago, has now become a flood.

Among those expected to publicly declare their allegiance to the APC during the rally are several prominent politicians previously aligned with the opposition. These include Hon. Ali Kalat, the Minority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly; Hon. Daniel Amos, who represents Jemaa/Sanga Federal Constituency; Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji of Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency; and Hon. Donatus Matthew of Kaura Federal Constituency.

Also joining the parade of new APC converts are former Senator Danjuma Laah, Hon. Francis Kozah (Zonkwa State Constituency), and Hon. Samuel Kambai (Zango State Constituency). Their defection underscores what party loyalists describe as the “final collapse of opposition in Southern Kaduna.”

The Comrade Ruth Alkali Support Group for Uba Sani, one of the major mobilising forces for the rally, expressed delight at the wave of defections and the unity within the ruling party.

“We are pleased to welcome these august personalities into the great APC family. Governor Uba Sani’s fair, inclusive, and equitable governance style has endeared him to people across all divides. Today, there is no opposition in Zone 3 because the APC is firmly in control,” the group stated.

Observers say the governor’s leadership style, marked by dialogue, development projects, and grassroots inclusion, has helped the party consolidate power in areas once considered strongholds of the opposition. The rally, therefore, is seen as a culmination of months of strategic realignments and reconciliations across political camps.

“Kafanchan is prepared for the influx of thousands of party faithful, just as the atmosphere is charged with excitement”, said the Comrade Ruth Alkali Support Group for Uba Sani.

The streets are being decorated with APC flags and banners, while local musicians and cultural troupes rehearse to welcome dignitaries and supporters.

For Southern Kaduna, Saturday’s mega rally will not only mark a new chapter in its political evolution but may also redefine the region’s position in Kaduna’s power equation ahead of 2027.

With the ruling APC’s growing momentum and the opposition’s apparent disarray, all eyes are on Kafanchan, where the rhythm of drums, chants of solidarity, and waves of decampees will tell the story of a political tide turning in favour of the Uba Sani-led administration.
