Kaduna State Ministry of Education has dismissed reports claiming the government has reintroduced the five-day school week in public schools.
Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, told journalists in Kaduna that the matter is still at the proposal stage and under consultation with stakeholders.
He explained that some media outlets misquoted him and stressed that no final decision has been taken on the school calendar.
Prof. Sambo advised members of the public to disregard the reports and urged journalists to verify information before publication in order to avoid unnecessary confusion.
Some media outlets reported earlier today that the state government had reintroduced a 5-day school week for public schools, quoting the commissioner for education.
