The Sanga Local Government Scholarship Committee has announced the commencement of applications for the 2025 scholarship scheme aimed at supporting indigent but brilliant students of the area in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
A statement signed by the Committee’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Aminu Yakubu Baba Ahmed, said the scholarship is a brainchild of the Executive Chairman of Sanga Local Government, Hon. Yakubu Anto Usman, as part of efforts to promote education and human capital development in the area.
According to the statement, the programme is designed exclusively for undergraduate students of Sanga origin currently enrolled in universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of education, schools of health science and technology, as well as schools of nursing and midwifery.
The Committee, chaired by Prof. Hosea Mende, assured that the selection process would be strictly “merit-based” and “transparent”,maintaining the credibility that has characterized previous editions.
To qualify, university and polytechnic applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0, while NCE and health science applicants are required to possess lower credit or merit grades. The scheme, however, excludes secondary school and postgraduate students.

The statement reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to fairness and transparency, urging eligible students to take advantage of the opportunity to further their education without financial hindrance.
