The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has announced the death of three of its members following a tragic road accident involving a missionary team returning from an outreach programme.
In a statement issued by the Church’s Public Relations Officer, Danjuma Dickson Auta, the accident occurred near the Lariski area of Bauchi State. The victims were part of a 14-member team from Zonzon District Church Council (DCC) in Kaduna State, who were returning from an EMS Saturation Outreach mission in Taraba State when their bus was involved in the crash.
According to the statement, the injured passengers were immediately evacuated to a hospital in Gombe State for treatment. Three members were later confirmed dead, while six others are currently receiving medical care. Five of the passengers have since been treated and discharged in stable condition.
The deceased were identified as Mama Deborah Bonat, a former leader of the ECWA Women Fellowship International; Reverend Habila Tagwai Kajan, a former Secretary of Zonzon DCC; and Mama Lydia John.
The Church leadership expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the deceased as committed and devoted members who served faithfully in the work of God. It added that arrangements are being made in collaboration with relevant authorities to convey the remains of the deceased to their families for burial.
ECWA also extended its condolences to the bereaved families and called on its members to support them with prayers and encouragement during the difficult period.
The Church further urged congregants to remain calm, prayerful, and steadfast in faith despite the tragedy.
